am quickly becoming a fan/stalker of the work of giambattista valli, s/s 12/13 being no exception.

ps so far ( a whole 7 shows in), havent seen alot of colour for next summer. perhaps a backlash against the last jewels/pastels/neons seen last year?)

trend of the week – casual accessories with formal wear.
the cropped blazer adorned many a starlet on the red carpet last year, and this year it seems we will be wearing knits with our evening frocks.
this i can live with, but when models start waltzing down catwalks in gowns and baseball caps, or even worse, visors [shudder], i will be inconsolable.

paris haute couture week has started (woooo!) with christian dior kicking it off with this lovely:

and the other end of the spectrum

what is coy, you ask? why is it not cow? well, pantone (a.k.a. the colour gods) don’t pick a colour to be awesome for a week. they forecast one to be THE colour for a whole year. so, drumroll please…
you may only wear tangerine, eat tangerines, and dance the tango (no sneaky hiphop moves for you this year missy). as a bonus, you may also randomly display some hermes packaging.

[is that right? whom else? i know its not whose else. funny that someone who disregards capital letters like a kardashian would dignity should worry over this]
* having tried out “forevs” i have decided it is not for me. or indeed any one over the age of 10.
aka sarah burton. superstar fashion genius woman. i tell you, she’s up there with pheobe philo (chloe/celine).

{rumour has it this may be marc jacob’s last collection for them. what, no more awful graffitti logos on an otherwise beautifully tailored bag? quelle horreur}

a little story to explain ourselves:
Once upon a time, three sisters found themselves randomly dotted around Australasia.
These lovely ladies, let's call them Nita, Berns and KC, possessed a desire to make their sisters like what they like. (They're sisters, polite didn't even come into it).
It began with the humble Song Of the Week, and has ballooned into well, this. A mixture of fashion, design, music and stuff. Yes, the all encompassing stuff.
